Omega Sets Sail With A Sporty New Seamaster

Celebrating the 2021 America's Cup

Omega has been announced as the official timekeeper for the 2021 America’s Cup, and is releasing a new watch to mark the occasion.

The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 36th America’s Cup Limited Edition is a 43mm steel model with a blue ceramic diving bezel, which incorporates white and red ceramic to create a five-minute countdown for racing. The white ceramic dial features the competition’s name at 6 o’clock, with the America’s Cup logo on the counterweight of the central seconds hand. It is also on the caseback of the sapphire crystal, through which you can see Omega’s acclaimed master chronometer calibre 8900 movement. The watch is limited to an appropriate 2,021 pieces.

The America’s Cup is the oldest trophy in international sport, dating back to 1851. This will mark the third time Omega has served in this role, with the Swiss luxury watchmaker beginning its partnership with Emirates Team New Zealand in 1995.

“The America’s Cup has a truly special place within the brand,” says Raynald Aeschlimann, Omega's president and CEO. “From ingenuity and precision, through to the competitive energy and history, every part of it appeals to our spirit. We’re very excited about our role next March and also for the chance to be on-board with Emirates Team New Zealand once again.”

Omega’s Seamaster Planet Ocean 36th America’s Cup Limited Edition is priced at £5,650 and is available from omegawatches.com
