Presenting new Trailgrip GTX colorways along with its recent collaborations with Zellerfeld and Salehe Bembury.
Moncler (MILAN:MONC.MI +0.31%) has just presented its latest footwear for Fall/Winter 2023, a collection that sees the fashion house continue to use sneakers and boots as canvases for experimentation, combining luxury and utilitarian functionality in ways that can be applied to life in both the city and the great outdoors.
In recent times, Moncler has tapped into the cultural zeitgeist with innovative designs and collaborations that have stayed true to the brand’s core, merging luxury and out-of-the-box aesthetics with outdoor-ready, high-performance functionality. Recently, the brand unveiled a collaboration with Zellerfeld on a new 3D-printed shoe, as well as an all-new collaborative project with Salehe Bembury on the outdoor-ready Trailgrip silhouette. Additionally, Moncler helped Pharrell’s Billionaire Boys Club celebrate its 20th anniversary with a collection fronted by Clipse’s Pusha T and No Malice.
Moncler is now continuing to work in the same vein with a new collection of footwear designs that hone in on the label’s outdoor DNA and the best-in-class craftsmanship it has become synonymous with.
Starting with an all-new Trailgrip GTX sneaker, the GORE-TEX design has evolved in vibrant hues of pink and “Forest Green,” while all-over cobalt blue and earthy shades of khaki and beige are found across the lateral sides, toe cap, and heel counter. The shoe is also enhanced with an exaggerated tread and curved rubber toe cap that sits alongside the carbon fiber footplate and Vibram outsole.
The Trailgrip Knit features a breathable and perforated upper – Moncler’s first-ever digital knit – bolstered by a thermoplastic spoiler, microfiber lining, and Ortholite insole.
Meanwhile, Moncler’s new Peka Trek boot comes into play as the brand’s most innovative hiking boot to date. Crafted with a Vibram sole, the shoe is then hit with a water-repellent membrane, and micro rubber midsole. However, the boot’s colorway has been carefully picked with life throughout the inner city in mind via the use of black leather and brown suede that can be mixed and matched with traditional hike-wear or contemporary fashion choices.
Moncler also references its classic Maya Jackets with the introduction of its Gaia Pocket Winter Boot. The silhouette is designed with a snap closure pocket and boudin quilting, with its waterproof membrane and cozy down insulation available to wear in low-top and knee-length iterations.
Rounding off the collection, Moncler welcomes its previously unveiled collaborations with Zellerfeld and Salehe Bembury, with the former presented as a 3D printed model, allowing creators to produce a fully-formed factory-free shoe. The latter draws inspiration from a shared appreciation of the great outdoors and is hit with a line of thumbprint quilting across a fine selection of green, orange, and “Pastel Taupe” hues.
You can take a closer look at the new Fall/Winter 2023 footwear collection from Moncler above, where the Trailgrip GTX colorways will be available to shop via select Moncler boutiques and on the brand’s official website from August 31. The wider collection of styles will then be released sporadically throughout the remainder of 2023.
